EnerConnect Adapters
Volant's EnerConnect Adapters can assist with the many challenges associated with obtaining direct access to data that appears to be "locked away" in various geotechnical databases and application systems. EnerConnect Adapters specialize in one and only one thing: exchanging data with a specific data store or application database in a reliable fashion. Commercial databases and third-party applications have traditionally been difficult to interact with from a data access standpoint due to the inherent complexity in the data and the closed nature of the systems. Each EnerConnect Adapter addresses these issues by providing the ability to query, read and write data, presenting a business view of the data and offering a published XML interface to the data.

Easy to Use.
EnerConnect Adapters are delivered as individual software components that run as a service independent of your client application. Therefore, nothing is “touching” your application. You simply make a request via a Web Service call (SOAP, XML) through a standard query mechanism and the data is returned from the adapter to your application. Similarly, submit a dataset to an adapter that provides the ability to write data to an application database and the adapter writes the data and returns a detailed report of exactly what work was performed by the adapter.

Configurable.
In some situations, a client may have implemented their system in a non-standard way and the adapter must adjust to this. EnerConnect Adapters provide a degree of configurability that address these differences by plugging in logic that is unique to a client’s system implementation.

Lightweight.
EnerConnect Adapters are lightweight and non-intrusive to your IT infrastructure. The adapters run as a service in the background awaiting requests to perform work: retrieve a list of OpenWorks projects, read Well data from a PPDM database or write Digital Logs to a PETRA project.
